Kids Dental Checkups & Cleanings

Six-month dental checkups and cleanings are not only recommended by Dr. Verjee but also by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Since cavities are common among young patients, we will check for any early signs of decay and administer timely treatment to avoid more serious issues later on. We’ll also thoroughly clean teeth to remove harmful plaque and tartar and offer tips to ensure proper brushing and flossing are occurring at home.

Athletic Mouthguards/ Sportsguards

Whether your child plays a contact sport or likes to engage in other physical activities, you’ll want to make sure they are equipped with the proper form of mouth protection. There are many one-size-fits-all solutions on the market, but if you want to make sure they avoid time at the emergency dentist’s office, a customized athletic mouthguard is worth the investment. Designed to fit comfortably and allow for easy breathing, your child will remain more confident in giving it their all during the big game.

Dental Sealants

Tooth decay can easily form in hard-to-reach areas of the mouth, especially those your child may have a difficult time brushing. With dental sealants, the clear coating that is applied can safeguard the chewing surfaces of molars and premolars so that bacteria do not penetrate and cause cavities.

Fluoride Treatment

Children’s smiles often need added protection against tooth decay and cavities. Although brushing with fluoride toothpaste and drinking tap water can be helpful, it may not be enough. This is why we offer fluoride treatment during regular checkup appointments. By applying the solution to the outer layers of your child’s teeth, their smile can remain healthier and better protected against decay. Also, the process is fast and completely painless!

Pulp Treatment

Decay or damage that occurs inside the inner layer of a tooth will likely require pulp treatment. As the soft tissue that consists of blood vessels, nerves, and other tissues, the pulp is highly sensitive. If it becomes inflamed or infected, we can remove either part or all of the pulp depending on the severity of the problem. This method is not only effective but successful in stopping the worst toothaches very quickly.

Special Needs Dentistry

At Magic Touch Dental, we believe everyone deserves a chance to enjoy life with a healthy smile, which is why we offer special needs dentistry to children who have intellectual and developmental disabilities. While certain conditions (i.e., Down Syndrome, autism, cerebral palsy, etc.) can result in more serious dental problems, we can deliver proven solutions to improve oral health in a safe and accommodating environment.
